GREENING MONBULK INITIATIVE
Congratulations to all who attended the "Greening Monbulk" celebration on Saturday night 15th August.
Those who attended jumped on board and showed the true Monbulk Community Spirit which we will need if we are to raise the full $33,000 required for our share of the new watering system and ground upgrade.
We managed to raise just over $7,000 in one night which was a fantastic response but it is only just the start. There are over 250 bottles of "Monny Water" still to be issued in appreciation of your $100 donation. (Receipts will be issued for your donation.)
Each bottle is numbered and you can request the bottle that is of significance to you. It is expected that all current footballers, cricketers and their families will donate for at least one bottle each and we ask that as many past players as possible also contribute…small price to pay for all of those fabulous memories and sporting achievements you have enjoyed on and around the oval over the years!
Please get on board this important project that will help secure the future of the Monbulk sporting clubs. Get on board yourself or form a syndicate, but please make sure you CONTRIBUTE.
Over the coming months you will find a Spreadsheet on the websites (see addresses below) and also on the notice board in the Log Cabin which will be continually updated, this will enable you to nominate your bottle of choice.
If you would like to contribute please look up the spreadsheet, and advise Paul Utting on putting@tpg.com.au or 0425 725 254 of your preferred bottle number. You can then make payment to any committee member stating your name and bottle number.
"Greening Monbulk" is an initiative of the Monbulk Recreation Reserve user groups - Auskick, Junior Football, Football-Netball and Cricket clubs, plus HawkTalk and the Monbulk Primary School - who have banded together to raise $33,000 for their share of the $200,000 water system costs. This is a substantial amount for local non-profit clubs and your contribution is greatly appreciated. $100,000 will come from the State Government and $67,000 from Yarra Ranges Council.
