MONBULK HAWKS - 2012 - IT'S OUR TIME
Hi All,
Every time you think about it, say it and hear it mentioned; finishing ten points clear on top of the ladder and going out in straight sets gets harder to take. Due to this however there were many, many positives to take out of 2011. Already there is a new hunger around the club that will hopefully see us finish the job we started last year and go that extra step. Our young players have lead the way in the gym and along with this our New recruits and returning players will create a depth that will ensure there is competition for spots in the senior side. We have new gym equipment, a revised training plan and we are looking towards using more technology during training and games. All of this of course is on top of our players being another year experienced and ready to step up when it matters, as an individual, to play there role in a great team. This will also be my final year as senior coach, and therefore I am as hungry as ever to achieve the ultimate success that so many have worked so hard achieve over the past 3 years.
Our reserves will also be stronger in their second year under Aaron Mitchell, who is also as keen as ever. The added depth will create a stronger team environment and more commitment from the majority to earn and keep a spot in the team each week. After a very good job from Billie Hicken in 2011 the U/18s will have a new coach and early indications are that there is a lot of excitement and good numbers for 2012. Our Netballers have a big preseason mapped out and are also keen to consolidate on the experience gained last year. With a committed coach in Jo Rutherford, the girls have great spirit and will also take that next step this year.
To all our current supporters and sponsors and retiring players, I urge you continue your valued support and get behind all the players, Dave Sands and the rest of the crew who put in so much time and effort each week. It will be a big year and we want you in the box seat for the ride. To those past players and supporters who we haven't seen for a while, remind yourself what a great club we have and why you owe it to yourself to get down more regularly and add to the spirit and atmosphere. It is going to be a massive year - you won't regret it!

Training dates:
Commencing- Wednesday 1st February: Morrison Reserve Mount Evelyn, 6pm (one time Venue only)
Friday 3rd February: Monbulk Football Club, 6pm
Monday 6th February: Monbulk Football Club, 6pm
Wednesday 8th February: Lilydale Lake, 6:30pm start.
Continuing as above (Mon, Wed, Fri) until Friday 9th March.
Pre Season Camp:
Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th February

Saturday 17th March v Drysdale (Bellarine Peninsula). Venue TBA.
